Quality Work = Research + Input + Time

I’ll say it once and I’m sure I’ll say it again – quality work takes time! Yes spur of the moment ideas are amazing, but it still takes time to develop the idea. I spent the past few weeks developing and re-developing event ideas. Bottom line: Your work gets better each time you scrap an idea and give it a redo.

Here are some tips for quality work:

  1. Time: Find a comfortable environment and relax a little before you start the brainstorming process. Great work is hard to produce when you’re not in the zone and in a time crunch.
  2. Research: Do some pre-research before you start brainstorming. It will jolt your creative juices and give you that extra boost you’ve needed to get the ball rolling.
  3. Input: Use a brainstorming partner! Even if it means finding mom and dad to sit through the excruciating idea sharing process. They will have something to add to your ideas. At the least you will be able to hear yourself think.
