When ‘Just Reading’ is Not Enough

Having a profile on LinkedIn or religiously reading industry specific blog posts isn’t enough. You should embrace all the connections that can be formed and the information that can be learned.

Make it a priority to comment when you check your social media accounts. I’ve found the best way is to comment right after reading a blog post or a comment. Write down a few thoughts that pop into your head! You must have a reaction to what you’ve read.

Social media network management takes a lot of time and effort but it’s completely worth it when members and followers find the content helpful or get involved in the discussions. Instead of keeping your thoughts to yourself – share! You’ll feel much more engaged with the community and feel even better when someone responds to your comment.

Remember to join The Ability Project LinkedIn group. Articles are posted weekly that start great discussion points that will make it easy for you to comment and share your thoughts.

  1. Everyone has their reasons for blogging: making an impact, passion for writing, networking, searching for readers, getting your thoughts out, or it could simply be a hobby.

It’s the same for commenting! You’re completely right about the need to comment. If you have something good to say, then why not say it?

  2. I completely agree. One of the best aspects of blogging is that you can get your opinion and feelings on things out there for everyone to see. Even though writing it out might be a release, it’s much more rewarding to hear what someone else has to say in response… you can learn so much from each other!
