Liar Liar, you got hired!
Ok, it’s bad out there. Layoffs + less jobs = desperate measures. Sooooooo, I guess that means:
(layoffs + less jobs) ÷ lying on your resume = appropriate measures.
Need a job? Better start making stuff up!
The forever hyperbolic NY Post, reports that 45-70% of job seekers fudge the info on their resume (statistical accuracy not with-standing) Although fear not! Our amorality shall not go unchecked! 95% of employers run background checks now, utilizing a proliferation of CORY-check tech and websites.
Have you ever lied on your resume? Fudged the dates? Inflated the salary? Added a few extra accomplishments/responsibilities? If 70% of job seekers do this, how do you differentiate yourself? What’s the answer to an honesty epidemic in the employment market?

Great article Tim! I believe that if you lie about the work you’ve done, it’ll catch up to you when your supervisor asks you to take the task head on because of your experience. I find comfort in knowing that the position may open up sooner.
